Yep, this is the end. I'll be surprised if it turns out some people didn't see it coming, but oh well - judging by some of the comments I cannot really accuse you of being perceptive.
As of today, I'm officially stopping doing any ED related content. Actually, i'm stopping using this account altogether, but since 99% of you were here for ED, i'd assume you won't care anyway. It was a fun ride... no wait, actually it wasn't, it was a pain in the ass and annoying to boot to work on it and I'm relieved that i finally decided to ged rid of this burden. As of why exactly i'm abandoning the project? Well, there's actually a couple of important reasons behind my decision, so I'll try to present them here.
1.Lack of time - pretty simple, i don't have much free time to work on ED. Any free time I get nowadays, I spend working on my other projects (which have nothing to do with pony btw). It's simply not worth it to waste precious hours working on something which will never be it's own thing. Which leads us to the next point:
2.ED is a waste of time and effort - let's face it - nothing would ever come out of it, it will never be anything more than a mix of pony and Warhammer Fantasy - intellectual properties of someone else. Seeing how eager Hasbro was to shut down a game such as Fighting is Magic, where the acts of cartoony violence were no more serious than in the show itself, I can't really see them letting any game based on ED see the light of the day. But that's ok - it's their IP and they have the right to defend it. Which leads us to the next point:
3.ED was based off my own homebrew fantasy setting - yep, I love worldbuilding and I love fantasy, and it was enough for me to try and create something of my own, But then I whored myself out and turned it into pony because I was hungry for attention (pathetic, I know). Every time I was working on something ED related, I felt angry and disappointed in myself for going for such a cheap trick.
Of course ED isn't the perfect mirror image of my original setting - it lacked a couple of things that are quintessential to pony (the Elements of Harmony for example), but the factions were mostly just straight conversions (apart from the names).
4.Inability to keep up with people's headcanons - it's a minor one, but nevertheless worth of mentioning. Let me say one thing - I had clear plans for the future of ED setting and what exactly was going to happen. I've been planning on doing a time skip, around 20 years ahead from the present time (which would make the setting take place 35 years after the events of season's 2 finale). Suddently i start seeing people's ideas for the setting and everything goes crazy - at first I tried to explain the subtle nuisances and drop some hints about the futre of Equestria to make them steer more towards my vision, but after more and more people started to create their own headcanons, and then seeing these being accepted by larger groups of people kinda started to get on my nerves a little.
5.Losing interest in the show itself - I really liked S1. S2 was hit or miss, some episodes were great, others just sucked. S3 at first looked promising, sure it had a weak two-parter, but next episodes were pretty good. But I just can't harbor the same enthusiasm for the show I had way back when S1 aired. Nowadays there's so many things that piss me off about the show, it kills my enjoyment of it. Why can't AJ have a decent episode without her fucking family for once? Why has Pinkie been so obnoxious for last two seasons when in S1 she was just playful and funny? Why is Twilight a fucking alicorn? Bah, I'm just rambling. My point is - i'm not enjoying it on the same level as I did before. Maybe it's just my fault and not the show's, that's a completely valid possibility. Still, the fact remains the same.
See ya out there.
EDIT: I'M NOT DELETING THE ACCOUNT, I SIMPLY WON'T BE USING IT ANYMORE
